Montana's Parrot & Exotic Bird Sanctuary is a 501(c)(3) organization that raises funds to support the extensive work we do rehabilitating exotic birds from all situations. On occasion we also take in other animals that need refuge until homes can be found.
A great deal of Montana's Parrot & Exotic Bird
Sanctuary's efforts is directed at educating the public about the issues surrounding parrots in captivity as well as their wild counterparts.
Montana's Parrot & Exotic Bird Sanctuary's ultimate goal is to avoid the need to have sanctuaries by educating people on the complicated social and physical needs of birds and teaching appreciation of animals in their native environment.
We also offer Animal-assisted therapy programs to our communities. Animal-assisted therapy is a type of therapy that involves an animal becoming a fundamental part of a person's treatment. Animal-assisted therapy is designed to improve the physical, social, emotional and/or cognitive functioning of the patient, as well as provide educational and motivational effectiveness for participants.
Exotic birds and parrots are highly intelligent creatures that can livemore than 50 years when cared for properly. Sadly there are many people who do not understand the complexities of caring for these beautiful animals and become overwhelmed causing them to be sold, given away, set free or abused and neglected.
Montana's Parrot & Exotic Bird Sanctuary is the only active organization of its kind in Montana, Wyoming, and Idaho, that understands the challenges facing these remarkable birds.
The difficulty of finding resources for parrot and exotic bird owners is overwhelming. Education, appropriate supply sources and assistance are needed to ensure the proper care and support of these birds by their owners, and Montana's Parrot & Exotic Bird Sanctuary wants to continue to be that resource.
With your help it can continue to be that way. You can include Montana’s Parrot and Exotic Bird Sanctuary and enhance your future financial interests by making a planned gift. These gifts are an important source of support for us and may come in the form of cash or other assets in any amount you choose. These can be either outright or deferred gifts and can be made in a variety of ways depending on your needs. A financial adviser or our Executive Director can help you determine the best way for you or your family to include Montana’s Parrot and Exotic Bird Sanctuary in your financial planning to ensure our continued success in rescuing unwanted or abused parrots and rehabilitating them for their forever homes.
